Clients often ask what kind of artwork they need to supply to print onto their chosen promotional product and there are 2 answers depending on their level of artwork knowledge and computer literacy.
The simple answer is just 'send whatever you have that you think might be right'.
If your artwork arrives and we can't use it we'll let you know and work with you to sort it out. You won't be charged extra if it's the wrong kind of artwork and if it would lead to a bad decoration on your product or clothing then we wouldn't consider using it. There is a good chance that whatever you have will do the job. If the file you send happens to end in .eps .ai .cdr or .pdf then your chances just improved.
The more complicated answer is 'it depends on what you're doing'.
The Rules of Artwork
For Screenprinting:
Colour seperable vector artwork in .eps
For Pad Printing:
Colour seperable vector artwork in .eps
For Embroidery:
Colour seperable vector artwork in .eps
For Digital Printing of any kind:
Digital printing can be done from any source but the better the image quality, the better the final output.
For Foil Stamping:
1 Colour seperable vector artwork in .eps
Note: .eps is shorthand for Encapsulated Postscript as this is the most common format of artwork exchanged digitally. Also perfectly acceptable are .ai, .cdr, .pdf
It's not uncommon for clients not to have access to the required artwork formats and logos sometimes have to be redrawn from whatever is available. Simple redraws are provided free of charge but more complicated ones may incur a small cost which would be discussed beforehand.
EPS files are the ideal format for artwork but quite often a good resolution jpeg will suffice. It all depends what you're decorating, how you're decorating it and what the file qualtity is like.
