Offshore Production

Clients of Bloomfield Creations can expect products to be made in countries from all over the world. For low quantities, offshore made merchandise is taken off the shelf locally and decorated here for rapid turnaround at a good price but given a sufficiently long lead time, significant savings can be made by decorating at the time of manufacture offshore.

Caps are a perfect example of the benefits of planning ahead. If you only have 3 weeks until your event then the best you can expect is a ready made off the shelf cap, hopefully in your colours with 1 or 2 embroideries around the crown for around $6-$8.

If you plan 10-12 weeks in advance however, you can enjoy a custom made cap made to your PMS specifications with 3D embroidery in multiple locations, embossed peaks, printed sandwich peaks, embossed back buckles and custom tags...all for around $5-$7. The value benefits of planning ahead are significant and something we repeatedly encourage our clients to consider.

The best things to produce in Asia are things with a high labour content. Items which are largely made by machine are not as cost competitive as those made by hand. Printed matter, plastic bags, signage, injection molded components are often the same price or more as similar products manufactured locally.

Where items are not made in Australia, and not enough are required to manufacture in Asia then we look to the USA where it can be quite cost effective to manufacture there due to their economies of scale. Lastly, we look to europe to products that are leading in terms of style and appeal. If our clients are seeking unique products with a modern edge then we go straight to our European affiliates for the latest and greatest merchandise.
