Caps make a wonderful walking billboard by promoting your company, brand and/or products. You don't have to look very far at all to see a wide variety of styles and designs from the standard heavy brushed cotton cap, to a fashionable scull cap or economical truckers cap. Caps, being such a necessary and useful item, make a very effective Promotional Product and an important product to use in your marketing mix.

The method that seems to be the most enjoyable to view lots of sample custom caps and pick out the features you like best and go from there.

Headwear Styles:

Always, the first step involves choosing your preferred style. Are you looking for a standard baseball cap, would you prefer a bucket hat that offers more sun protection or are you after a beanie for the cooler months? If the hat is for staff working outdoors, perhaps something with a wide brim for sun safety.

 Headwear Styles

Material:

Step two involves choosing the material to make your masterpiece from. The majority of headwear is made from the very durable heavy brushed cotton fabric however you may like to choose a sports mesh, denim, tartan or even polar fleece fabric depending on your situation and style. There are a wide range of options to choose from including:

*Heavy Brushed Cotton
*Brushed Cotton
*Melton Wool
*Microfibre
*Poly Mesh
*Denim
*Tartan
*Taslon
*Polar Fleece
*Nylon
*100% Cotton

Decoration:

Step three is decoration, once the basic style and fabric have been chosen we then need to think about the message your cap is going to portray.  Are you looking for a large bold logo, small subtle message or all over design? With custom made caps we can embroider over seams, add words or images to the peak of the cap or turn the entire cap into a photographic image...the possibilities are endless.

Starting with the peak of the cap...there are many different options including contrast piping, embroidery, branding, reflective tape, metallic patches, embossing or just a plain colour. Don't forget this is your unique cap so picking up colours from your logo and adding them to the peak of the cap can visually enhance the overall cap and make it yours. Some examples of this can be seen below.

 Cap Peak

 If you have certain words associated with your brand or even a short message we recommend considering a woven tape in the sandwich trim of the cap. This really is an eye-catching way to get your point across.

 Woven Peak

The crown of the cap is the area which usually holds your logo or message..however your cap can be as creative as you like and leaving the front of the caps blank with a logo on the peak or back is also a possibility. Assuming your logo is going to go on the crown there are several options to choose from, the most popular being embroidery but other options include:

* 3D Embroidery
* Woven Badges
* Metal Badges
* Transfer
* Screen Print
* PVC Badge
* Plastic Welding
* Sublimation

For the adventurous few we can even do sequins if the need arises! Your logo or design does not need to be contained to the crown of the cap..it can overlap on the peak, under the peak or sides of the cap quite easily.

 Finishing Touches:

Step 4 is choosing how your cap is going to be adjusted at the back and is usually one of the easier decisions to make. We find the most popular choice is the gunmetal tuck in buckle however you may like the velcro for ease of use or choose the plastic tab to save a few cents. They following options are available:

* Cross over velcro strap
* Gunmetal Tuck in Buckle
* Plastic Clip
* Plastic Tab
* Brass Buckle Return
* Close back (fitted
* Draw String

Lastly, the final last thing to consider is any optional extras you may like to add to increase the appeal of your cap or individualize it a little more. For example you may like to add a symbol from your logo to the buckle at the back of the cap, a symbol woven into a label and attached to your cap, a printed sweatband underneath the cap or simply change the eyelets on the cap from stitched to silver or brass metal.  We can even add golf ball markers, bottle openers and lights to your caps.

Cap Extra
